Friendly: SIM 2-1 NP
NP Field, SIM 2-1 NP
Line-up: Ray, Zifu, Joe, Jerald, Sin Ting, Darren, Brandon, Jason Ang, Bryan N, Sebas, Romulo
Subs: Wy, Melvin, Khai, Adam
A spirited and great display lads, this was our first game after our despairing drew w SMU tt cost us our title in the SUNig and surely it doesnt seem like we guys lost touch in football.
The first 20 mins was a little of a blip but soon after it was just SIM. We controlled the game well, d defence was well guarded and it was an encouraging performance by Ray back in the goal line. In the midfield department, the engine was nicely oiled and Romulo did an excellent job in holding d ball up w Sebastian showing signs of his early promises in his CV.
The first goal was conjunct out of nothing. A quick free kick taken by Brandon was passed on to Darren and albeit all shouts n calls that he was crossing instead of shooting, he took a step and let fly a howitzer that ricocheted off the NP's defenders headed n into d net. 1-0.
In due honesty the referee was full of nerves and it was evidently shown in the last 10 mins of d game where he blew f a foul in d box by young Bryan. It was a weak foul but the penalty was coolly converted home by their no. 7, which is plying his trade in Gombak Prime League but clearly and sadly not showing any indication tt he belonged there.
The last hurray belonged to Bryan, who received a succulent throw ball from i-forgot-who and he dipped a ball over d head of the NP keeper which hit d post and crossed the net. Despite obvious signs tt d ball crossed d line and the over zealous jumping of joy by one of d NP jogger, the referee dropped his whistle and forgot t blow it for a goal. To hide his embarrassment, he waved for the game t carry on but lets face d fact, it was 2-1 to SIM in the dying mins.
Lets continue this winning tradition babes, we can do it.

Our journey so far..
Marko has put in a commendable amount of effort t tranform this SIM team and I would say d committee working behind this team has also put in a considerable amount of dedication n hard work, arranging games, writing proposals, sending SMS are no joke so guys, please have a least courtesy next time t reply on time or t EVEN REPLY.
Not gonna pin point but some players have been playing below expectations n seriously, I wld say tt d standard of some players are on par or are putting in more effort than those playing at a frequent pace and of higher standards. Sometimes, seeing all these rly sent a heart wrenching feel so I wld rly urge everyone, from now onwards, t put in their 101% hard work and sweat t make this team successful and t stop that talk of, 'yes, next year we will be stronger'.
Cheers.
Upcoming fixtures
1. 22/10 SIM vs NP @ NP, 7Pm Kick Off, bring both sets
2. 25/10 SIM vs Keppel Monaco(NFL2) @ Queenstown Secondary Sch, 3pm Kick Off, both sets

Crunch Time!
Early goals are bullshit because fr tt moment on we have t start chasing d game. Guy, lets buck up, lets settle dwn, approach d game d day bef w d mentality tt we got what it takes t bring d opponent down.
SMU aint any pushovers, they r a decent team w hardworking players. So, lets go, lets start our road to victory this v moment mentally and lets strut our stuff in tngt's trng and d game on friday.
SIM HERE WE GO!

SIM Soccer Girls
I watched the youtube video on the game you girls played with NUS, I can only say that I'm very proud of the whole team. You girls showed exceptional fighting spirit and keep the feet on the ground, trying your best to string the play and really, to me its just a 10/10 effort.
Be it the men or the female soccer team, we represent one entity solely and that's SIM and to bring glory to our school. Guys, watch the video, its nothing fancy but look in deeper, learn some stuffs from the girls as they are playing a sport that is traditionally men and they are so committed in it.
Good luck!

The belief comes within you!
http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=822321&sec=europe&cc=4716
Shit happens, thats what some from NTU might say about our 3-0 win over NUS but for that shit t happen, our players played their best and created a result that many thought we couldn't achieve.
Over the weekend, Blackpool secured a 2-0 win over Newcastle which many thought that it'll b a stroll in d St James' Park for the magpies but the tangerines came with a different mindset, a driving mentality, a force that pulls d team together and playing with their hearts out. This I called, fighting spirit.
What really stunned me is for the lowly, just promoted Hercules t secure a famous victory in Nou Camp over Barcelona. 2-0 was the score and it happened, really happened. Where many famous giants fell and soccer is played like W-11, Hercules notched a victory over the likes of Iniesta, Messi, Xavi and the list can go on.
Its about playing beyond what you think you can perform at and let's bring this unseen force within each and everyone in this upcoming Sunig.
Countdown to first game: 10 days

Friendly Result
Scorers: Darren, Sebastian, Patrick
1st Half: Wee Yang, Zhong, Jerald, Jason C, Vincent, Brandon, Darren, Aloy, Khai, Sebas, Patrick
2nd Half: Wee Yang, Zhong, Jerald, Jason C, Vincent, Terrence, Jason, Sheer, Romulo, Aloy, Sebas
Subs: Sin Ting, Zifu
3rd Half: Ray, Zifu, Jerald, Joe, Zhong, Terrence, Jason, Sheer, Sin Ting, Romulo, Patrick
Subs: Aloy, Darren, Brandon, Sebas, Jason C
A great display lads with a strong NUS side, 3-0 is a good result considering the fact that we registered our FIRST win since Jan, our difficulties in finding the net for the past few friendlies and indeed it came timely as SUNig is fast approaching. A swift 1st half display saw SIM surged ahead with goals coming from Darren and Sebastian.
2nd half came with multiple subs from both teams and soon a brilliant solo effort from Patrick saw SIM led 3-0 with the 3rd half to play.
3rd half saw the introduction of old boy Joe coming in at an unfamiliar left back position and an influx of substitutions ala a 3am zouk free entry. NUS came in strongly in this half with more familiar starters but it ended all as a square yet flattering result for our lads.
I would say guys, I'm really very pleased with our results today, the flow was fluid and passes were acute with excellent flank support coupled w the agility of our strikers. Let's not get carried away guys, its a 3-0 win over NUS but they played mostly with their trialists and they have got more substance than you think. Their regular starters, whom most are my Jollilads team-mates and I know they can change the overall result of the game and they are players that are really good, humble and play attractive football.
A few moments in our play saw miscommunications between our players and our work rate i would say, we were second in that department. NUS created a few chances for themselves and looked impressive going into their attacking 3rd but we handled it well. We have to tie up these loose ends and guys, we will be a strong force to be reckoned in this coming SUNig.
A good debut by Ray, Patrick and Zifu and particularly impressive running and passing were shown by Terrence, Sin Ting and Romulo. Great job guys, end of the day please remember, one should nv stop at where he thinks he is good, learning and improving is a continuous process.
LETS ALL WORK HARD FROM NOW ON, GET MORE GAMES AND WINS AND WE SHALL SEE OUR EFFORTS BEARING FRUITS AT THE END OF THE DAY.
FIGHTING!

Unfortunately, we havent been able t get any results frm our games leading t this yr's SuNig. For those who are curious, our current form reads D-D-L-L-L, one tt even Wigan or Portsmouth would nt b proud of. D President has v high expectations of our team, which is rightly so since 70% of d team has gt COE/PLeague/Sleague experience. Bringing back SuNig is one of our main priorities and we want t push d club t another level.
This is why, some of d senior players, esp myself, is v harsh on d team. No disrepect, bt SIM used t b d whipping boys in SuNig/IVP and nw tt thr is a strong team, thr is a v gd chance of us winning. Yes, I have t admit, tt Im v harsh on d field, scolding whenever a bad pass is made/loss of possession etc. Bt d reason why I do this is because I want d team t do well, play better, and most imptly, WIN. It may seem t you tt I find fault w ppl, namely WeeYang, bt tt is nv d case. Im nt saying tt Im d best player ard, bt I jst want t give my 5cents worth, pass on my advice and experience so tt we can b a better team.
I knw my shouting and scolding is wrong. Im nt tt kinda person and Im v puzzled myself, bt mayb Im jst t pushy and eager t win. So Im here to apologise t evryone. My scolding has only cause some players t nt b able t express themselves during d game, fearing t make a mistake. I knw Ive hurt you guys, and you guys dun deserve this. I sincerely hope tt you guys forgive me and we work tgt t bring SuNig back.

Friendly Result: SIM 0-3 Gombak Utd
nevertheless, the game started w weeyang in goal and a solid bck 4 of vincent, joshy, jerald and captain zhonglun. jst playing in front is a diamond shaped centre mid comprising of darren, jason and romulo and with khai on the left and sinting on the right. t complete it all, it was a debut start for sebastian seah on the frontline against the seasoned prime league players.
game started off brightly with both sides stroking passes, no doubt it was gombak tt was enjoying most of d possession. first goal came albeit d fact tt it looked marginally offside but w/o d linesman, ref also have a tough job in hand.
the match went in half time at 1-0 t d home side with more chances f each sides, jst failing t capitalise.
2nd half started with fahmi coming in as a half time sub f romulo. SIM looked to impose themselves stronger in this half n 2nd goal came duly off a deflection pass and a swift counter attack from the right brought a little kevin wee t a standstill. the right mid duly converted t d delight of the gombak bench, same goal from a similar area, 2-0.
SIM had a glorious chance t put themselves bck into the game when the goal was gapping in fronta fahmi only for the keeper's reflexes t parry the ball away. gombak seemed t have slacken n lowered their gear a little, allowing SIM t penetrate n enjoy more possession in d attacking third.
3rd goal came and the contest was well off for the away team as the gombak team steamrolled their way t their friendly win.
no doubt we lost lads, it was a good runout from weeyang who played well t keep d scoreline respectable, gombak had a few laughing stock moment esp the incident where 34 had a foul throw called on him. Josh was being the happy commentator commenting, 'is this what we expect from a professional?' true enough but it was a well appreciated fight up to d 90th min and lads, i can nv be more proud of yr overall performance.
keep it up, i smell d sunig's trophy coming bck t ulu pandan.

LATEST UPDATES!
Please pay real attention to this post here. Ok as all of you know, we are planing a IVP training trip to Kuala Lumpur.
Why KL? It is the capital of Malaysia and it has many big universities and obviously our opponents are of that sort and from Coach Marko's contacts. Why KL as well, very good qn, KL boast a wonderful night life as comparable or even better to that of Singapore.
It has:
- KL Zouk
- KLCC
- Asian Heritage Row(Their Md Sultan alike)
- Starhill
- Girls, girls and girls.(see how big Josh's eyes are litted up)
Ok tentatively I am gonna propose this date for us to head up. 24/11 night we are leaving SG to take a coach up to KL. We will reach our hotel around morning 25/11. Our whole duration of trip will be 25/11 to 28/11, whereby 28/11(sunday) morning we will depart for SG.
I will try to make this a NO-COST trip but if need be, pls be prepared to bear 30% of the overall cost of the trip(max S$250).
We are looking to accomodate up to 18-20 players, Coach Marko and hopefully a physio. The hotel we are staying is NOT gna be a 4-5 star hotel, its jst something cosy and most importantly, situated NEAR the heart of everywhere.
This is the URL to our hotel. Checkaitouts! www.kl-hotels.com/my-hotel/rates.htm

eyegasm ppl
1. As this year, we are actively looking f a sponsor f d team, coach Marko has decided that if we can do up a beautiful proposal t market his Stadio pitches n his business, he will gladly be our sponsor.
2. Caroline & Gary are supportive o this idea as Marko's business n our soccer club is linked, Kenneth, on the other hand, welcome this idea as well.
3. Please check out this webby, IF ALL GOES WELL, this will be the kit for our SUNig/IVP season 2010/2011. http://www.team.lottosport.com/man/default.asp?lingua=eng ------> go to 'team collection SS10', under 'team uniform' on the left column & click on 'kit olimpia'. I am looking at the Navy/Flame colour. I'm open to other views too people!
4. To administer more sense of belonging and the fire to bring glory to the club, im proposing that we will print 'TEAM SIM' at the back with the number and BELOW the number, will be printing of OUR NAME. *what do u guys think abt it?
5. Okay for this point, it is rather of a joint effort thing. This year we will be coming up with another Futsal 5, Male and Female Category, likely venue will be preliminary rounds at Ulu Pandan and Finals at Stadio. Now, another thing, those that have ald entered the working world, pls help to promote Stadio as a venue for cohesion activities or friendly kick-around, this is part of the marketing we needa help coach.
6. This year we are looking at the professional approach, IF EVERYTHING IS ACCORDING TO PLAN, we will report for games in polo tee, shorts and bag(All by Lotto), complete with shoe. It's high time those shabbily dressed moments must go.
Thanks guys for yr time, more updates tmr at training!

AUG Trials
We would like to kick start the preparation for the NFL (season starts in April) and also the AUG in Dec 10 (tentatively 16-23 Dec 10 @ Changmai). There will be selection for Combined Uni Team on:
- 24/2 (Wed), 7pm @ NUS (Friendly against NUS) – wear white top and dark shorts/socks
- 27/2 (Sat), tentatively 4pm @ NTU
- 4/3, (Thurs), 7.30pm @ NTU (Friendly)
- 6/3 (Sat), tentatively 4pm @ NTU
I hope to firm up the team for NFL by 7/3/10, and the team will probably train once on weekdays (wed or thurs) and once on weekends till nearer to exams. As per previous years, we probably need to play through our exams …. We will managed with whoever available for matches …
Please help to let the team knows, and let me know who are keen by next mon evening.
Graduating seniors who want to be considered for AUG could also join us for the selections (though probably not playing in NFL this year) ….
