SIM's new boys lost to NFA U-17

  0-2

National Football Association (NFA) Under-17: Remember this team. It became the first team to win SIM University soccer team in the Dilwant Singh SIM University era. There is no club or experience players, like Kiat, Ang Zhiwei, Raymond kwa or Yasir Hanapi, playing in this match. It is a friendly match to test out those players who are still undergoing the selection.

"It wasn't a brilliant result. But I am more pleased with the way they kept going. I gave all the trial-list players an opportunity to let them know how SUniG or IVP match standard will be. It was certainly a good fitness workout." - Coach Dilwant Singh.

When Coach Dilwant Singh was asked if the defeat was a bad sign rather than a good one, "I hope not - If I am going to lose any games I am happy to lose these ones, that is for sure," he said.

In this match, there are a number of impressive players like Sulaiman who scored hat-trick in the previous friendly against TP, and Eason Chen who is part of SIM team last season but never given a chance to play. New players like Xiang, Nicholas Leong and Faizal, are good too.

"These new players did well for us, he gave us something which we need and in this match we short of forwards so I believe the future of SIM Soccer is bright as these new boys will grow stronger and stronger." - Melvin Tan (President of SIM Soccer Club).

"It's not one we desperately needed to win but it is a game we needed to get prepared for. In relative terms it's not of the biggest importance. I am happy that SIM Soccer team has 2 new keepers who performed very well during the match. Ignatius Lim has been great during the trials and I am glad that he is able to play well in a match. And we have to welcome back Jason Wong. Seems like before the tournament starts, we will have a competition within the team which is fighting for the first 11 spots." - Kiat (Vice-President of SIM Soccer Club).
