El Classico!

Game 3: NUS vs SIM
Post Game Report

I've always maintained d fact tt NUS is a side worthy of d highest respect n packs a bag of surprises. They really lived up t my expectations and great fighting spirit saw them picked themselves up from an early Patrick(who else?) goal to lead 3-1 by the 35th min mark.

To b honest the goals were really soft, 1st goal conceded being a sway xin(unlucky god) goal, 2nd being Anand's belated Thaipusam goal which saw him wringling past all of defenders before slotting d ball into d net n save d best for d last where we saw weeyang finally unleashing his silent hatred for the NUS 1st goalscorer by slamming his ferocious drop kick into his back n unfortunately it bounced back for a silent goal.

What happened next is more exciting, epic and exhilarating than Liverpool's greatest fightback to win their Champions League trophy. From a 3-1 deficit, a possessed SIM side whose hunger would have made cows an extinct species started d rout w 2 goals in 8 mins from d 2nd half kick off. 2nd goal for Paran(its still Patrick anyways) and a sweet lovely left leg volley by Marcus made d score balanced up once more.

Now its all a one channeled effect in d game. NUS literally switched off and SIM unleashed their 105mm artillery, all out blazing against their hapless opponents. Waves aft waves of attacks saw unproven results in some wasteful finishing by Darren n Aloy but its up to our, one and only, red beret commando officer, to douse d fire and put d icing on d cake. A fantastic clearance by the NUS keeper fell to Xabi, oops i mean Jason Ang 40metres away and there, he unleashed a fabulous lob equal if not better than tt half line goal tt Beckham scored tt catapulted him to stardom. 4-3. Lovely.

Tremendous determination, hunger, spirit, character and the list would just go on and on guys. I can only think the only barriers to stop us from going all the way are internal fear and complacency. We have come this far, live the dream guys. Remember its just not for us now, its for our school, for our hard work, our commitment, our team spirit, the university soccer and to show the soccer community in Singapore that, soccer prowess is not longer mat-infested and it can also belong to those with brains.

Keep it up lads and if this year is 2010, I would say, no ITE pls but now, BRING ON ITE.

Love you guys,
Darren
