November Friendly Results

SIM 2 - 4 TP
Scorer: Weixiang, Fahmi
Assists: Jeremy
Penalty Miss (Terence)

HT: 0 - 1
FT: 2 - 4

A good run out after a long layoff. Much of the football in the second-half was brilliant. To come from a goal down not once but twice to bring the game back to square at 2-2 reflects the fantastic spirit, patience and belief this team possesses collectively.

Had Terence not smacked the crossbar, a third goad plus a 3-2 lead mid-way through the second-half would be well deserved given the team's performance. Adebayor raised (quite literally) but was undone by the river.

Ninety minutes of football is never enough for any of us, let alone settle for anything less. I tried to ensure the team out there wasn't understrength against Steven Tan's TP and maintaining stability subs after subs. With these said, thank you guys in the game and on the bench for understandably giving your minutes graciously to fellow players plus settling for non-preferred playing positions.

Starting 11:
Haza, Jerald, Jerome, Zhong, Josh, Aloy, Marcus, Darren, Brandon, Melvin, Weixiang

Subs: Jeremy (Weixiang), Fahmi (Melvin) , Terence (Aloy), Wafi (Marcus), Aurelius (Darren), Talib (Brandon), Elango (Jerald), Watson (Josh), Joe (Jerome), Andy (Zhong),

Unused Subs: Nil

I will sms you guys to remind. Thanks for your understanding.
I would also like to say thanks for all your votes, will tally it this week. Hopefully with a common agreement of a new committee, our team can move on & focus on our playing!

OFF SEASON TRAINING DAYS

Attention ladies,

This is a follow up to the meeting we had on Thursday. Due to exams, we are only having trainings once per week and the agreed day is on Mondays. As for usage of big field, bookings are full for these 2 weeks. In addition, ulu pandan field is occupied by rugby players on Mondays. So we have two options, either we wait for confirmation to use the big field and postpone training to next week, 2nd of Nov or we go ahead and use the ulu pandan cage. Do reply on the tagboard.
Next up, team meeting. As agreed, we will have an hr meeting this Thursday, 29th Oct 09, 12 noon @ Level 3.07, Room 1 Alpha. Do come for this meeting so that we can consolidate any previous disagreements, discuss ways in which we can improve the current management & etc. Please remind the others of this meeting. Thanks!
Lastly, a gentle reminder: Do check the blog for any updates. There will be no SMS reminders.

"Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has overcome while trying to succeed." - T.Washington

By taking two steps forward and one step back, we still continually move closer to the goal. A man who makes no mistakes is one who does nothing. Failure, disappointments, and setbacks are a part of life. We must learn not to identify with our failures. There are many, many examples of people who overcame backward steps. Learn from our mistakes, but identify with our success.

Press on, confident in our ability to succeed, backed by the power of faith. Never forget that people who accomplish great things believe they can do it.

p.s. (No, i'm not religious, but i believe in the power of faith, patience is a virtue)

One more SUNig match.

3 points, no less.

See you on Thursday for training.

Hey, you guys played brilliantly today.

Fantastic team spirit, dominated the game, waves of attack after attack, out-muscled and outplayed NTU today. Unfortunate not to get a deserved equaliser with the bar coming to their rescue in the dying minutes.

They simply couldn't play their game. Took two of their half chances. Soaked up the waves of attacks thrown at them, cleared every ball, had their key player sent off and injury antics. Final whistle couldn't come soon enough for them.

Take heart from today's overall performance, continue playing the way you did in the next 2 matches and the results will come our way. We've the quality and depth to win any team on our day.

This is undoubtedly the BEST SIM team. Couldn't ask more from you guys. A joy to watch --- The NTU hostelites behind the goal were rooting for us.

Have faith, we'll reap what we sow.

See you on Saturday for correction training after today's game.

Do you have the hunger to win?

"All who played the friendly against SIM and last year's SUNIG Game should know that SIM are no pushovers and certainly irritating as an opponent; their bench will taunt you, their keeper will use ridiculous waste time tactics, and their players will dished out ridiculously dangerous tackles and always always complaining to the referee for every decision against them, all to put us out of the game. Therefore, whoever that is playing have to be prepared mentally and physically." - NTU Soccer Blog

Well my brothers, we'll let our feet do the talking. Let's play as a team, beat NTU and go on to win SUNig!
