Ex-SIM Student, Adrian Dhanaraj, passes away.

The 29 years old defender has lost a determined battle with Hodgkin's lymphoma about a year after being diagnosed.
Former S-league footballer, Adrian Dhanaraj, has passed away on 11th September 2013 (Wednesday) after a hard-fought battle against cancer. Adrian who turned 29 just last week, was diagnosed late last year with stage 2 of Hodgkin's lymphoma, which is a cancer of lymph nodes, forcing him to quit football.

He has played for Big clubs like Geylang United FC (now, Geylang International FC), Singapore Armed Forces FC (now, Warriors FC), Young Lions and Gombak United FC. He also made 2 appearances for Singapore against Vietnam and North Korea in the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Cup, which was a annual football tournament organised in Vietnam, in 2010.

Being a tough tackler on the pitch, Adrian did not let up and was determined to press on, having also enrolled for undergraduate studies in SIM University. Adrian also went on as guest commentator at the 25th Canon Lion City Cup and as a pundit on other football shows.

Adrian is understood to have passed away at around 10pm, Wednesday night, his wake will be held at Singapore Casket, Level 5 from 2pm onwards today (12 September 2013), with the funeral scheduled for tomorrow.
