SIM Soccer Girls

Girls,

I watched the youtube video on the game you girls played with NUS, I can only say that I'm very proud of the whole team. You girls showed exceptional fighting spirit and keep the feet on the ground, trying your best to string the play and really, to me its just a 10/10 effort.

Be it the men or the female soccer team, we represent one entity solely and that's SIM and to bring glory to our school. Guys, watch the video, its nothing fancy but look in deeper, learn some stuffs from the girls as they are playing a sport that is traditionally men and they are so committed in it.

Good luck!

The belief comes within you!

Hey guys, I was just doing my routine soccernet checks when I came upon this article and would like to share with you guys.

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=822321&sec=europe&cc=4716

Shit happens, thats what some from NTU might say about our 3-0 win over NUS but for that shit t happen, our players played their best and created a result that many thought we couldn't achieve.

Over the weekend, Blackpool secured a 2-0 win over Newcastle which many thought that it'll b a stroll in d St James' Park for the magpies but the tangerines came with a different mindset, a driving mentality, a force that pulls d team together and playing with their hearts out. This I called, fighting spirit.

What really stunned me is for the lowly, just promoted Hercules t secure a famous victory in Nou Camp over Barcelona. 2-0 was the score and it happened, really happened. Where many famous giants fell and soccer is played like W-11, Hercules notched a victory over the likes of Iniesta, Messi, Xavi and the list can go on.

Its about playing beyond what you think you can perform at and let's bring this unseen force within each and everyone in this upcoming Sunig.

Countdown to first game: 10 days

Friendly Result

NUS 0 - 3 SIM
Scorers: Darren, Sebastian, Patrick
1st Half: Wee Yang, Zhong, Jerald, Jason C, Vincent, Brandon, Darren, Aloy, Khai, Sebas, Patrick
2nd Half: Wee Yang, Zhong, Jerald, Jason C, Vincent, Terrence, Jason, Sheer, Romulo, Aloy, Sebas
Subs: Sin Ting, Zifu
3rd Half: Ray, Zifu, Jerald, Joe, Zhong, Terrence, Jason, Sheer, Sin Ting, Romulo, Patrick
Subs: Aloy, Darren, Brandon, Sebas, Jason C

A great display lads with a strong NUS side, 3-0 is a good result considering the fact that we registered our FIRST win since Jan, our difficulties in finding the net for the past few friendlies and indeed it came timely as SUNig is fast approaching. A swift 1st half display saw SIM surged ahead with goals coming from Darren and Sebastian.

2nd half came with multiple subs from both teams and soon a brilliant solo effort from Patrick saw SIM led 3-0 with the 3rd half to play.

3rd half saw the introduction of old boy Joe coming in at an unfamiliar left back position and an influx of substitutions ala a 3am zouk free entry. NUS came in strongly in this half with more familiar starters but it ended all as a square yet flattering result for our lads.

I would say guys, I'm really very pleased with our results today, the flow was fluid and passes were acute with excellent flank support coupled w the agility of our strikers. Let's not get carried away guys, its a 3-0 win over NUS but they played mostly with their trialists and they have got more substance than you think. Their regular starters, whom most are my Jollilads team-mates and I know they can change the overall result of the game and they are players that are really good, humble and play attractive football.

A few moments in our play saw miscommunications between our players and our work rate i would say, we were second in that department. NUS created a few chances for themselves and looked impressive going into their attacking 3rd but we handled it well. We have to tie up these loose ends and guys, we will be a strong force to be reckoned in this coming SUNig.

A good debut by Ray, Patrick and Zifu and particularly impressive running and passing were shown by Terrence, Sin Ting and Romulo. Great job guys, end of the day please remember, one should nv stop at where he thinks he is good, learning and improving is a continuous process.

LETS ALL WORK HARD FROM NOW ON, GET MORE GAMES AND WINS AND WE SHALL SEE OUR EFFORTS BEARING FRUITS AT THE END OF THE DAY.

FIGHTING!
