Funding for our Hong Kong Trip - Let's make the trip possible ourselves!

Guys, our overseas training in HongKong will be scheduled for 15th - 22nd November. We're looking to bring at least 16 players (max) for the trip. Marko has contacts and will make the arrangements for friendlies and accomodation.

However, due to e recent H1N1 events, the school may not approve of e trip. I'm saying may not due to H1N1, NOT will not. Should they approve, there should be a subsidy. We've not submitted an official proposal at the moment as we've yet to finalise the accomodation costs.

As for the flight cost, it works out to be $333 after taxes (base on June's rates). We need to buy the tickets as early as possible to avoid a situation where the flight cost hikes as we draw nearer to Nov. Accomodation costs will be settled in HKG.

I'm urging ALL to make this trip possible OURSELVES. Depend on no-one, but ourselves to make it happen. Take it as a bonus that the school is kind to assist us monetarily, but given the current outbreak of influenza, let's not depend on it.

Assuming we go ahead w/o school subsidy (rejection of proposal due to H1N1 or for any other reasons), I estimate that each of us will need at least SGD$1,200 (flight cost $333 + accomodation + meals + travel expense).

Well, you may be thinking how how raise that money in 4 months?

I've thought about that question myself and this is HOW we can do it starting July to End Oct (we've 4mths):

The PLAN is to pay for flight tickets FIRST (then earn back from IPPT if window still open) AND save money prudently from Start July to End Oct for HKG in Nov.

Here's the breakdown to raise $1,200 in 4 months:

Step 1: Purchase flight tickets before end July. We should each have $333 to buy flight tickets.

Step 2: If your IPPT window is still open, get Gold ($400) or Silver($200) - use incentive to cover/subsidise flight cost.

if you achieve IPPT Gold, thats $1200 - $400 = $800 left to raise (July - Oct)

Step 3: Save at least $200 per mth [e.g. save $50 per wk = $200 per mth x 4mths = $800]

if you achieve IPPT Silver, thats $1200 - $200 = $1000 left to raise (July - Oct)

Step 3: Save at least $250 per mth [e.g. save $63 per wk = $250 per mth x 4mths = $1,000]

I'm looking to create a subsidy for everyone going for the trip if the upcoming Futsal League is a success. So do your part saving up while I'll do my best to work out a decent subsidy for us all.
